Mothpuppy "As It Goes Down" out November 15th + two singles out today

we're thrilled to announce our final release of the year, As It Goes Down, out November 15th from Baltimore legends Mothpuppy. As It Goes Down is a remarkable expansion of the band's oeuvre, and fleshes out the transition of the band from being a project of lead songwriter Morgan Murphy to being a full band collaboration. their first release as a five piece, and first since 2022's phenomenal Limb From Limb, these new songs reveal a fresh, vital band that writes rollicking, engaging rock and roll. we could not be happier to be working on this, and frankly, think this stuff simply rocks.

right here on this damn website we're premiering two of these songs: "It Is What It Is" and "Power & Control":

Sad Cactus Records · It Is What It Is

Sad Cactus Records · Power & Control

we feel remarkably lucky to be involved with this project, and I think these two songs are pretty simple showcases of why Mothpuppy absolutely rules.

For now this is a digital release only, with a run of verrry cool mothpuppy shirts included. You can purchase a digital copy of the EP with a shirt here.

Leafing final single "Circling" out today + album out 9/13.

The final Leafing single from their upcoming record Folding Then to Now is out everywhere today. "Circling" sees the band deep in a luxuriously ominous groove, sparkling and shimmering their way to a rollicking denouement.

You can hear "Circling" here: https://leafing.bandcamp.com/track/circling.

The second single, "Take the Medicine" premiered a few weeks ago via all time friends over at Post-Trash, and courtesy of Myles Tiessen. Myles says:

"Mathy, new wavy, post-punky, whatever you want to call it, “Take The Medicine” blends the force of the militaristic marching rhythm with the grace of the layered backing Beach Boys-style vocals. Featuring a wonderfully long sonic dismantling–where the band dissolves into freeform abstraction just to reform under a new song and pace–Leafing proves that there is no end to the roadmap they are on."

Ty to Myles for the kind writeup.

Leafing are playing a release show in Brooklyn at C'mon Everybody with The Narcotix and Market on Thursday, September 26th. Tickets for that show are available here: https://dice.fm/event/mx2v7v-leafing-album-release... - come through, it will be an absolute blast.
